About Course on Personality Rights

Personality rights have rapidly evolved into one of the most significant legal domains in India, particularly with the rise of celebrities, influencers, digital platforms, artificial intelligence, and commercial endorsements.

Recently, a wide range of public figures—including Amitabh Bachchan, Salman Khan, Sunil Gavaskar, Hrithik Roshan, Junior NTR, Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Nagarjuna, Chiranjeevi, Karan Johar, Jaya Bachchan, Abhishek Bachchan, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Ilaiyaraaja, Kumar Sanu, Asha Bhosle, Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, Sudhir Chaudhary, and Raj Shamani—have approached Indian courts to protect their personality rights.

These matters have involved unauthorised use of names, images, voices, likeness, deepfakes, AI-generated content, and misleading commercial exploitation across social media, digital platforms, and e-commerce marketplaces. The Delhi High Court, Bombay High Court, Madras High Court, and other constitutional courts have played a central role in shaping this rapidly expanding area of law, balancing dignity, privacy, free speech, and commercial interests.

This course offers a comprehensive and practical understanding of personality rights, covering the legal framework, drafting techniques, commercial exploitation, and emerging challenges. It equips learners with both conceptual clarity and drafting skills required to handle personality rights matters in litigation, contracts, media, entertainment, and commercial transactions.
